Product description
Review
"Tricia Rhodes's walk of faith is a well-paced pilgrimage. You will find counsel enough in these pages to bleed the hassle from all frantic discipleship. And the soul at the center of your hurriedness will be a soul at rest, for you will have found that gentle pace that tells the world it will be good for them to be around you, for you have walked the edges of her wisdom."
In Sacred Chaos the disciplines become attainable; they are not limited to superhero Christians, but available to each humble believer. The tone of Rhodes' writing is never academic or removed, but always encouraging.
The author shows us that we are indeed spending time in prayer and God's presence in the everyday things we do. She gives practical simple advice on how to make the most of every minute to assure that you are experiencing God. This is an author who I will always look to for books that will assist me in continued spiritual development.
This book is [an] encouraging message for those youth workers fighting to find a little more sacred time within the incredibly chaotic demands of loving teenagers.
While I've read some books in the spiritual discplines genre that either too ethereal or too commonsense-y, Sacred Chaos is simple yet profound, practical yet deeply spiritual. Don't let one more "Sacred ___" title scare you away. This one's a keeper.

About the author
Tricia was born in 1952, the 4th of five children and learned early on to enjoy hiding away and pondering life's mysteries. This grew into a passion for spiritual things and she has spent her life helping others pursue their own pilgrimage with God through teaching and books. She has two sons and four grandchildren with her best friend Joe. They moved back to Tricia's hometown of San Diego in 1981 to plant a church where they ministered for several decades. With a strong desire to teach, Tricia went back to school in her late 50s and received a PhD in leadership studies from the University of San Diego. She is happiest when she is teaching or writing and current serves as an affiliate adjunct professor of practical theology at Fuller Theological Seminary in California.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very spiritual, but very realistic
Title is very apt and very true. Found lots of inspiring and doable spiritual discipline here. Tricia Rhodes gets the life of the committed American working wife, mom, woman in lay ministry. I will read this again, and share it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book to simplify the important
There are many disciplines that we want to undertake as Christians in our efforts to know Christ deeper and walk closer to Him. Unfortunately, we sometimes get so caught up in the "have to's" and "how to's" that we lose the reason why we are doing them in the first place. This book takes these disciplines and simplifies them, makes them easier to incorportate in our daily lives. By incorporating some of these into our lives, I believe we will be able to stress less and worship more. Worth the money and the time to read.
