Your Amazing Hands
‘Your Amazing Hands’ follows on from Abbey Wedgeworth’s toddler books (‘What are Hands/Ears/Feelings for’, etc). It follows the format of the previous books by detailing all the positive things we can do with our hands, and also that God created our hands. Then it moves on to some of the negative ways hands can be used, introducing God’s plan to save us from our destructive or hurtful behaviours – Jesus. It outlines some of Jesus’ miracles and how he welcomed everyone. Then it goes on to explain Jesus’ death, rising again and the Holy Spirit.
‘Your Amazing Hands’ is written in rhyme, which tends to help truths sink in. The illustration is beautiful and diverse. It is the kind of book which would be used time and time again in helping children understand their behaviour and that of their peers – and most importantly speaks great truth to them about being forgiven and loved.
