This beautifully-illustrated hardback gift book is a magical allegorical tale of ‘the path’ and the villagers who confused things by creating new paths and different ways of climbing it or finding their way.
There is no mention of Jesus, making it instantly accessible in secular settings. However, the point is clear to Christians: we need Jesus, Light of the World, to show us the path through life, and he can even put his light in us so that we can guide others towards God too.
“You: A Special Gift” is a long-ish picture book, so you’ll need a good attention span – but it’s also separated into several different ‘chapters’, so could be split up and shared across several bedtimes. I read it to my 11 year old and even though he’s older than the target age, we were both captivated by the enchanting illustrations and unique tale.
