Why We're Feeling Lonely
It paints a picture of the situation many of us are already aware of – the difference between real and perceived connection amongst our younger generations.
As I think most people would be able to guess, ‘Why We’re Feeling Lonely’ touches on the rise in the use of the digital world, pornography, mental health and the change in community and how we engage with it. I particularly enjoyed how Shelby Abbott has laid out her book with outlining (and backing up) the problems that Gen Z are facing, then following each of these sections up with an ‘authentic healing’ chapter, which suggests solutions rooted in scripture, bringing a sense of hope to the reader.
This would make a great parents or young adults book club book – read and then discuss together….seeking and providing the very thing this book is talk about!
