Who Made God?
And it’s by Hope Triber Joanne Gilchrist – yay! ‘Who Made God?’ does a great job of offering an answer which is intellectually satisfying whilst avoiding simplistic platitudes. In language under 8s can understand! In rhyme! (The woman’s a genius.)
There are further facts and discussion pointers at the back of ‘Who Made God?’, as well as an extremely helpful prayer and Bible verse, acknowledging the limits of our own understanding. The illustrations are bold and colourful, making this a thoroughly engaging book. It’s aimed at under 8s (my twins loved it at age 7) but the subject matter gives plenty of brain fodder for older kids too (my 10 year old was very positive about it).
The good news is that ‘Who Made God?’ is part of a series, so you can collect a whole load of answers to difficult questions! It’s called Animals of Eden Valley; they also cover ‘Why Can’t I See God?’, ‘Where Does God Live?’, and ‘Why Did God Make Me?’.
