What Are Hands For?
The books follow a formula of positive things to do with the body part in focus, then moves on to negative behaviour. Jesus is then introduced as the perfect role model. It then explains how Jesus followed God’s plan, then it talks about how if we are tempted to do things we shouldn’t, we can say sorry and God will forgive us. ‘What Are Hands For?’ then introduces the Holy Spirit who helps us become more like Jesus. It finishes on something we can do with our body to praise God.
The books are beautifully illustrated. They are diverse and I imagine all children will find themselves in the pages of the book. There are lots of books on the market for toddlers struggling with things like biting and not sharing but I haven’t come across books like this from a Christian perspective which talk about Jesus and the forgiveness he gives. ‘What Are Hands For?’ would be great for any family with toddlers and also for church play groups etc.
