The Story of Easter
Ideal age for ‘The Story of Easter’ would be 4-7, I reckon. Younger kids with longer attention spans could manage this, and it certainly wouldn’t feel dumbed-down for an older child.
‘The Story of Easter’ covers the events of Holy Week (Palm Sunday, Jesus turning over the money-lenders’ tables at the Temple, the Passover meal, etc) in a really clear, concise way for younger kids, whilst keeping very faithful to the Biblical accounts. I appreciate how different gospel accounts have been combined, and also how there are symbols on many of the pages to represent different promises God made – the symbols are introduced at the start of the book, and this would be a lovely thing for kids to spot as they’re being read this book.
If you want your child to understand the events of Holy Week, ‘The Story of Easter’ is a very helpful guide.
