The Story of Christmas
As you would expect, the story is expertly told, and I love the focus on God’s promises being fulfilled through Jesus. ‘The Story of Christmas’ contains four symbols representing four of God’s promises (about a king, to rescue, about his people, and to bring joy), and children are encouraged to spot these as they read the book. All the main aspects of the Christmas story are told, as well as Mary’s visit to Elizabeth and the prophecies of Simeon and Anna.
It’s a thin picture book, but with seven short chapters it might be more appropriate for an early schooler rather than a preschooler (unless they have a great attention span).
The price makes it an easy giveaway at your kids’ Christmas events this year – and the Good Book Co have made this even easier with discounts when you buy in bulk from their website.
