The Seed of the Woman
It sat on my TBR pile for ages, and I’m so glad I finally got a chance to read it. ‘The Seed of the Woman’ runs from Eve, who was promised a son to crush the serpent’s head, to the courageous Egyptian midwives whose saving work foreshadowed the saving work that the Messiah would one day do, to the key women of the times of the Judges, Kings, and Israel’s exile…right through to, of course, Mary, the mother of the Saviour himself.
Nana Dolce is a ‘proper’ theologian, and I really appreciated her insights, the ‘aha!’ moments as she drew out links between these women, and between them and Jesus. But with short chapters which were easily readable before bed, I felt like I was getting proper theology in a very accessible way. ‘The Seed of the Woman’ is an excellent and interesting read for anyone keen to delve deep in short bursts.
