The Healing

By Joy Margetts

Set in the 1200s, this is the tale of a nobleman, Philip, wounded in a battle in which he hoped to die - but didn't.

As he is nursed back to physical and mental well-being by Brother Hywel, the pair travel back from France to Wales, Hywel gently walking alongside his new friend both literally and spiritually as Philip turns his back on his old life and puts his trust in Jesus. Philip’s growing understanding of what it means to live as a Christian brings him into light and life – but what happens when the vow he has taken is challenged?

It took me a few chapters to get into ‘The Healing’, but I was so glad I did! Not only beautifully-written, I just loved following the journey and the plot as it twisted and turned, with an ending I wasn’t expecting!
