The Girl on the Tube
The protagonist, Addie, is also 12 – and she’s just moved from a spacious house with a garden in America to a poky flat in London with her Dad. As she stumbles over the new culture and traditions and makes the most unlikely friends, will she discover the identity of the mysterious woman in the green hat, who keeps making an appearance on her tube journeys?
We both enjoyed this relatable tween story, and would love to read more books if ‘The Girl on the Tube’ were made into a series. We were a little surprised at the lack of faith content, but sometimes the reassurance that a novel will be devoid of inappropriate content is enough, when looking for books for this age group.
‘The Girl on the Tube’ is a lovely story of coming-into-adolescence, whilst navigating a major transition.
