The Flowers of Bay C
She sent the PDF to a few of us, and honestly it was un-put-downable (and that’s saying something, as I really struggle to read books on a screen). She took it round a few publishers, but no one was looking for a hospital-based story in the wake of Covid, and my heart sank as I knew this story needed to be released into the world for others to enjoy. So imagine my excitement when Liz got in touch recently to say she was self-publishing The Flowers of Bay C – now everyone can enjoy it!
Set in a hospital ward, the story revolves around five very different women – a single mum who’s chronically ill, a tattooed vicar, a stand-offish woman, a gentle Muslim lady, and an 87-year-old who longs to see the sea one last time. Will the gang be able to unite and give Barbara her dying wish? If you’re looking for gifts for bookworm friends – particularly those who enjoy easy-read novels with strong characters and a powerful message, by a Christian author but with a very light touch on faith – this is your book!
