Sowing Seeds

I found the layout of this book quite confusing at first. It is arranged into what Sowing Seeds call ‘building blocks’ rather than full sessions and this means jumping around the book quite a lot. However, it is worth persevering as there is some fabulous stuff.

I used it with a Sunday School group of 2-7 year olds who particularly enjoyed the interactive stories and acting out the different parts. They also enjoyed the songs, and the repetition of these was a really good way of embedding the message. Some of the building blocks were more liturgical than would be usual in our setting, but the pick-and-mix nature of the book meant we could leave those out without losing the overall message. It’s a really versatile resource that could be used in Sunday School, with toddler groups, in schools or as a separate children’s service in churches of all denominations and traditions.
