Seek and Find The First Christmas

My eldest son had all the ‘Seek and Find’ books and loved them, so I had high expectations for this book. I was not disappointed; and nor was my toddler! He loved the flaps but he also loved finding and counting the creatures. ‘Seek and Find’ fans will be glad to know Ruth Wren is watching over the story in this book too.

‘Seek and Find The First Christmas’ features the same great illustration as the previous books, full of details yet simple and ethnically diverse. The story is the traditional Christmas narrative, told in a simple and accessible way. It’s a shame that Jesus is still shown as a baby when the wise men arrive – I think there was space to show Jesus as older, a toddler perhaps, but it’s not a major issue.

I really like the prayer at the end. Simple but beautiful. Much like this whole book.
