Notes on Feminism: Being a woman in a Church led by men
You can dip in, or read straight through as I did.
I appreciated how Lauren grapples with the Bible and secular culture here in a really helpful way, not shying away from some of the more uncomfortable aspects of either. She faces complementarianism and egalitarianism head-on (I won’t spoil it by telling you which side she lands on, but just that she is compassionate and gracious to the other side too, which is refreshing).
Lauren looks at the role of women in the church, in marriage, in family life, in the work place, in sport and so much else. She considers body image and societal expectations and norms, and is brave enough to give food for thought whilst remaining firmly grounded in Scripture. ‘Notes on Feminism’ is a fascinating read.
