Muddy Mayhem: Jack & Bea's Survival Guide to Church
This is the final (to date) of six books in the ‘Jack and Bea’s Survival Guide to Church' series, and my 10 year old twin boys and I have loved each one.
I recommend reading the series in order, but children will still enjoy and appreciate ‘Muddy Mayhem’ if they haven’t read the earlier books.
Jack and Bea are camping with their church, but there’s a rainstorm, and the whole camp has to leave and re-pitch elsewhere in the middle of the night. Alongside this, the kids are learning about Moses and the exodus from Egypt, and Joshua and the spies entering the Promised Land. As Jack and Bea ask questions and puzzle things out for themselves, kids (and adults) reading along will start to understand this passage in a new way.
‘Muddy Mayhem’ is a fun and easy read for 8-11s, with regular (black and white) illustrations, and lots of humour along the way.
