Mothering Against Futility
Firstly, can we take a moment to appreciate this book's beautiful cover?
Mothering Against Futility is quite unique for a book about motherhood, making it ideal for gift giving. Using Ecclesiastes as a reference point, Gorton writes honestly about the realities (and mundanities) of daily life raising little ones. She encourages mothers to remember the eternal purpose behind our daily tasks, and how God is able to shape our hearts towards spiritual growth through it.
There are real-life examples from the author’s own life alongside relevant Scriptures, with a writing style that is easy to read and accessible. I would recommend this for those in the early throes of motherhood, it is a quick read full of solid biblical encouragement.
