Moments in Mummydom
This really made me giggle: a year in the life of a Mum of five.
Jess manages to expertly put words to the chaos of parenthood, aptly summing up with painfully-accurate detail the kinds of situations you run into with kids that you could never dream up in a million years.
Fictional, but based on factual reality of Jess’ own experience of motherhood, ‘Moments in Mummydom’ is a very entertaining read. There are gentle mentions of God, faith and church, but nothing too ‘heavy’ – it would make a great gift for a reading friend who was on the fringes of faith.
At times, I’d have appreciated a firmer edit (the switching between tenses felt a bit clunky to me, for example) but overall, a lovely read which wouldn’t be out of place on a summer holiday.
