'Maybe I Can' Said Charlie Farley!
The books tackle various issues face by children today. In ‘Maybe I Can’, Charlie Farley learns to have a positive attitude and to be brave. Many children develop an “I can’t, I’m not good enough” type of attitude at some point. ‘Maybe I Can’ helps children see that they can be brave, they can be kind, they can! My eight year old has quite a soft spot for Charlie Farley and found this story encouraging. It’s the kind of book that can be reached for whenever a child is facing a challenge which they don’t think they can overcome.
Each Charlie Farley book also has activities at the back and conversation starters. There’s a hide and seek element to each book too. My son loved these parts of ‘Maybe I Can’, and enjoyed discussing the questions.
These books are clearly written by someone with a wealth of education experience and knowledge of supporting children. The author is a Christian, and the books support Christian values but there is no overt faith reference, making them suitable for classroom use and to give to friends/family who don’t share your faith.
