Louisa Freya Dragon Slayer and Other Tales
'Louisa Freya Dragon Slayer' was a bedtime read for my daughter when she was 10.
Amy Scott Robinson has chosen a bunch of folk tales, myths and legends from around the world and throughout history – all of which feature GIRLS as the protagonists – and compiled them into this lovely paperback.
Each story in ‘Louisa Freya Dragon Slayer’ is told enticingly, keeping older children (8+) and adults engrossed. They’re just the right length to read at bedtime, and Amy’s popped some background to the story at the end: not only where the story’s from, and how she’s adapted it, but what it reminds her of from the Bible too.
‘Louisa Freya Dragon Slayer’ is a really lovely and original read, with opportunities to start interesting discussions too.
