Left to their Own Devices
I started it on Saturday and finished it on Wednesday – and I’m a slow reader! Incredibly practical and helpful, but also humorous and easy to read, with anecdotes a-plenty.
Author Katharine Hill isn’t ‘doom and gloom’ about technology – in fact, she’s very positive about the impact it’s had on our lives, and realistic about the fact it’s a major part of our world. But some really helpful principles are shared which, as a parent of a tween who is months away from owning his own phone, I found invaluable. The appendix contains a wealth of helpful websites and information too.
Please note: I reviewed the first edition of ‘Left to their Own Devices’. The links take you to the 4th edition which, at time of writing, is the most recent. Chapters have been added to make the book relevant post-Covid.
