L is for Love: Share God's Love from A-Z!

‘L is for Love’ goes through every letter of the alphabet, matching an animal with a kind or good attribute starting with the same letter (e.g. “A is for Alligator who Appreciates a hug, B is for Bumblebee, a sweet Big-hearted Bug”). Each pair of letters is matched to a bible verse – some connections are a little tenuous, but others are wonderfully matched, e.g. “D is for Donkey, Determined as can be” with Hebrews 12:1 “Let us run the race that is before us and never give up”).

I like the inclusion of Bible verses throughout. And on a side note, “W” is for wolf – an animal usually seen as scary, in ‘L is for Love’ is presented as good. I like the implication that we all have the capacity to be loving and kind. I’d avoid the cheesy prayer at the end which rhymes but doesn’t scan! The illustrations are bold, colourful and happy – and there’s even a secret door on one of the pages which I’ll leave you to find…
