Knowing God

‘Knowing God’ is pretty wordy and detailed: the first section explains what God is like, the next explains what we are like (which introduces the concept of sin), then comes a section on what God did (sent Jesus), followed by what we should do, including a prayer children can pray to commit their lives to Jesus, and what to do next.

The language is recognisably ‘J.John’ in style, but well-adjusted to children’s understanding level, and although some parts feel a little black-and-white, I think we can rest assured that most children will receive a whole range of more nuanced conversation around the gospel as they grow up: this book, however, is an excellent start.
