Joni Eareckson Tada: The Girl Who Learned to Follow God in a Wheelchair
I love this series for how they tell biographies accurately but succinctly, movingly sharing the challenges people have faced as they put Jesus first.
I’m also a HUGE fan of Joni Eareckson Tada, having read and absorbed her story as a late teen/young adult. So to be able to share this (now super-old, as far as my kids are concerned) biography with my family in such an accessible way was really special to me. I actually cried and my kids rolled their eyes at me.
The ‘Do Great Things for God’ books are always an encouragement to our own faith, and ‘Joni Eareckson Tada’ helps our kids to think through how they might respond during suffering, how they might welcome and include people with disabilities, and reflect on what an amazing God we serve, who is able to bring so much light and life, even in the face of severe challenge. ‘Joni Eareckson Tada’ is a must-read!
