Although this isn't a Lent devo per se, it's a gorgeous book containing the right amount of reflections to see you through from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday.
They are reflections, not devotions (an anecdote/picture linked to a Bible verse rather than Bible study on a passage), but I think this makes them perfect for busy parents who might just have a minute to open a book and read a few relatable words. The paintings in ‘Holding Onto Hope’, by Amy’s dad Leo, are beautiful and really pop from the page.
If you’re in a place where the Bible feels hard to read right now, or hope feels distant, even just meditating on these pictures could be an excellent way in for you. Amy’s reflections are ponderous, warm and always lead you back to God’s word. ‘Holding Onto Hope’ is a stunning hardback book, perfect for a gift or to indulge yourself at Lent (yup, no irony lost here).
