Good News Bible Family Edition

The Bible Society has thought this one through so well. Let’s start with the cover, which is essentially a whiteboard – have fun doodling, wiping and doodling again! Then we move on to the introductory pages: a child-friendly Bible timeline, pages to personalise for your family, and six fabulous ‘Family Bible Journeys’. These give you 10-20 different readings throughout the Bible on a particular theme. Try ‘Hidden Heroes’ (lesser-known Bible characters) or ‘Weird and Wonderful’ (talking donkeys, demon pigs and more!).

And then we move on to the Bible books themselves. Each comes with a helpfully succinct introduction, wide margins for doodling, key verses, activity ideas, bits to colour and more. The ‘Good News Bible Family Edition’ reads horizontally, which is slightly awkward if you’re reading it over a meal or any place it’s not easy to lay out flat, but it’s been designed that way so that – ideally – family members can gather round and engage with it in different ways.
