Disentangled
In ‘Disentangled’, Johnson does a great job of bringing together psychology and Scripture in a way that’s clear and practical rather than heavy or theoretical. The book is practical and gives tools and small exercises to help you slow down, notice what’s going on internally, and respond more intentionally, recognising that becoming more like Christ is a process (a marathon, not a sprint).
One of the biggest takeaways for me was the idea that emotions aren’t something to ignore or fight against, but “data” to pay attention to. That shift alone felt quite freeing.
Overall, I’d say this is a really accessible and useful book for anyone wanting to grow in emotional awareness and discipleship. I could easily see it working well for personal reflection or in a small group setting, because it naturally leads into honest conversations about how we actually live day to day.
