Bible Stories: Crinkles

By Monica Pierazzi Mitri

I'm excited by the growing range of baby-friendly Bible story books, and this fabric book would be lovely for little hands.

It has a tactile crinkly cover (very satisfying), and three Bible stories told simply, each on one page (David and Goliath, Jonah and the Big Fish, Daniel and the Lions). The illustrations in ‘Bible Stories’ are bright and engaging, but skin colour is a little ‘white’ for my liking.

Fitting one story into one page is no mean feat, but they’ve done a good of summarising the key parts, even if your average baby would turn the page before you’d read everything. That doesn’t matter, though – the chief purpose of ‘Bible Stories’ is to introduce the Bible to babies in a sensory, playful way – there will be plenty of opportunities to grasp the details of the stories as they grow older.
