Creation
The simple, contrasting images are engaging for babies as their eyesight develops. Most of ‘Creation’ just has one word to sum up each area of creation such as dark, dry, plants etc so even very young children can understand it. The back pages have the full story of creation, so as you look at the pictures and read the simple words, you are building up to the full story.
My two-year-old enjoyed ‘Creation’, especially practising some of ‘his words’ such as moon and stars. In addition to simply reading ‘Creation’ together, it is ripe for plenty of extension, for example “Where is the tiger?” “How many fish are there?” ‘Creation’ would also be great as a guide to some sensory play; dark and light with a torch, wet and dry with a bowl of water and towel.
A great introduction to the creation story which would make a great new baby or baptism/dedication gift.
