Betsey Stockton

Born into slavery, freed as a young woman, and determined to pursue her dream of being a missionary, the story of Betsey Stockton will appeal to a wide age group – from a 3/4 year old with a 5 minute attention span to a 9/10 year old who still enjoys a snuggle and a picture book!

The language is well-chosen, so that the story feels interesting and engaging without being too long for a younger reader. And there’s more detail at the back of the book for children who want to learn more.
