An Introduction to Women in the Bible
From those about whom whole books are written (Ruth, Esther) to those who go unnamed or just have a verse or two written about them (Lois, Eunice), this book includes them all with a helpful summary of their story.
‘An Introduction to Women in the Bible’ was a good refresher for me, as I’d forgotten lots of the random OT women who have excellent stories, and I always forget who did what in Acts too. After the incredibly helpful reference guide, there’s a retelling of the story of Potiphar’s wife, which lends a freshness to this familiar story.
I really enjoyed ‘An Introduction to Women in the Bible’. If I had any gripes it would be the typos (not a huge issue here but it definitely would have benefited from a proof-read) and the lack of interpretation of some women’s stories. However, I do appreciate the fact that the women’s stories are largely told in a factual, unbiased way. You can then go and look them up in the bible, read the whole story, and make your own mind up!
