Amazed: 30 Days of Growing in Awe of God

It can be so easy to take his presence in our lives for granted. So this 30-day devotional, ‘Amazed’, has been extremely welcome. Divided into handy sections such as ‘God’s Power’, ‘God’s Kindness’ and so on, it dots around Scripture, with Carolyn Lacey’s beautifully-written commentary lifting our eyes to see afresh just how awesome God really is.

The whole thing is very readable, with a down-to-earth style and up-to-heaven content. I found each day’s reading a manageable length for my 10-15 minute daily devotional time, and it probably took me around 2-3 months to complete. Not bad for a busy working parent, and all credit to Carolyn’s warm, inviting style.

NB This book is written to and for women, but really there is nothing in it that wouldn’t be suitable for men to read – it’s just that the reader is occasionally addressed as if they were female. This, I expect, has to do with TGBC’s stance on female teachers – but if you’re a guy and can get over the occasional reference to being a woman, you’ll enjoy it too!
