Abigail’s story – tactfully appeasing angry David and his men when her husband insulted them – is one with historical repercussions. If she hadn’t have thought quickly and done what was in her power to do, David might have committed horrendous atrocities – atrocities which would undoubtedly have stained his future kingship, and our Messiah’s lineage.

So it’s an important story for our children to know – but one not often told. This picture book, aimed at 4-8s, brings the story to life. With a beautiful rhyming text and Andy Gray’s engaging, colourful illustrations, it makes a great read-aloud for young families.
