Abigail and the Christmas Contest
(As I was trying to enforce a strict no-Christmas-music-till-Advent rule, perhaps they were just delighted I made this concession…) Creative Abigail is back with another adventure – this time hosting her much-loved aunt, uncle and younger cousin for Christmas. She’s so excited for their visit, and plans a huge cousin contest for she and Evangeline to enjoy together – but her plans end up being threatened by feelings of jealousy and resentment, as she gets distracted by all the things her cousin has that she doesn’t.
Alongside the narrative, we’re given insights into the devotional the family are reading during Advent. Can Bethany’s new knowledge about Jesus bringing joy help her with the jealousy she can’t seem to get rid of on her own?
‘Abigail and the Christmas Contest’ is a lovely bedtime read for 7-11s looking for something festive and fun.
