A Smashing Day: Jack & Bea's Survival Guide to Church

For a church kid, any book whose first page is all about how terrible Sunday School is will always be a winner - even a church kid who doesn't hate church - right??

My twins (8) were hooked on ‘A Smashing Day’ from the start! ‘Normal’ kids feeling ‘normal’ emotions about everything from Sunday school to friends to parents to chores? With funny conversations and laugh-out-loud moments? Yes please! In fact, the trilogy of books of which ‘A Smashing Day’ is part – each taking one day of a 3-day holiday club – are a clever way in to all sorts of interesting conversations about God, the Bible and everything.

Within the disarming context of being thrown out of holiday club (yes, really) and being forced to help the church caretaker with jobs, Jack and Bea get the opportunity to ask – and think about their answers to – some BIG questions – and we, the readers, get to listen in. ‘A Smashing Day’ is a fun story, but with some light apologetics thrown in. Quirky illustrations throughout as well. Absolutely awesome! Follow them on TikTok or Facebook: @survivalguidetochurch
