A Basic Guide to Biblical Theology

This is a ‘hybrid’ theology book; partly accessible to the everyday reader and partly an academic overview of biblical theology.

It is not one to read before bed! I definitely needed to pay attention to get the most out of this book.

The chapters are relatively short, but packed with relevant information covering topics such as ‘How to put your Bible together’, ‘Covenant’, and ‘Kingship’. Each chapter is broken down into smaller sections with clear subheadings and helpful diagrams for more visual learners. I found myself underlining and tabbing many pages to refer back to another time. The chapters conclude with resources for further reading.

I would recommend ‘A Basic Guide to Biblical Theology’ for those who have a foundational knowledge of the Bible, but who want to dive a bit deeper into key themes that unite the Bible as a whole. It would be useful for anyone preparing to teach or discuss biblical theology with older teens/young adults.
