101 Great Big Questions about God and Science
Produced by the Faraday Institute, which specialises in good-quality Christian scientific research and writing, ‘101 Great Big Questions about God and Science’ really does go in-depth on a number of issues from dinosaurs to miracles, the human brain to black holes.
Each question gets a response by one or two Christian scientists – a good mixtures of men and women, in a variety of different scientific disciplines and contexts – so the answers contain both scientific research and theological understanding. The contents page helpfully breaks the questions up into 8 categories, and they’re not all about science – the ‘God, People and Religion’ section, for example, covers the resurrection and what happens when we pray – whilst ‘What God is like’ looks at questions about randomness and suffering.
With colour illustrations on each page, ‘101 Great Big Questions about God and Science’ is an easy book to dip in and out of, as your child grows and asks different questions. You won’t necessarily agree with all the answers – that’s science and religion for you – but the book has been very well thought out.
